Welcome to the Primary School

Our primary school is a place where children not only acquire knowledge but also develop their creativity, build self-confidence, and discover their imagination. Alongside academic achievement, we place great importance on the development of social skills in order to provide our students with a strong foundation for their future lives.

Our primary school comprises grades 1 to 4 and is generally attended by children between the ages of six and eleven. During this important developmental phase, we convey essential subject knowledge while also promoting key foundational skills such as independence, a sense of responsibility, and teamwork. Our holistic approach creates a solid academic foundation and prepares students optimally for the transition to secondary school.

Our curriculum is based on the guidelines of the Thuringian educational plan, which we adapt to the specific context and educational profile of our school. To support each student individually, we employ different teaching methods and provide targeted additional support whenever needed.

Individual Work

The children receive individual support and thus learn to work independently.

Team-Teaching

First-class education for the children through close cooperation among the teaching staff.

German Language

German is our everyday language, which is taught to the children according to their needs.

Education extends far beyond regular timetables. Through cross‑grade activities and projects, our students not only strengthen their academic skills but also develop essential social competencies. These shared experiences foster a strong sense of community and support a natural and smooth integration into school life—particularly for students who join us during the school year.

Learning and personal development do not take place solely in the classroom. That is why we offer a diverse afternoon program following regular lessons, carefully designed to reflect a wide range of interests and talents. This allows all students to discover their strengths, further develop their skills, and explore new passions beyond the classroom.

The afternoon program offers students a variety of activities after regular school hours. The offerings include a broad spectrum of art, sports, music, language, games, technology, and much more.

The transition from one stage of education to the next is a significant milestone in a child’s life and requires sensitive guidance. Our educational approach is designed to make the transition from kindergarten to primary school, as well as from primary to secondary school, as smooth and successful as possible. With clearly defined goals, we support children, parents, and teachers alike, creating reliable conditions for a successful transition:

Through intensive communication and close cooperation with classroom teachers, specialists, and special education and support teachers, we aim to ensure the best possible transition for our students.

We place great importance on identifying children’s individual skills, strengths, and weaknesses early on. Through targeted diagnostics and careful observation, we gain a comprehensive understanding of each child before they enter the next school year, allowing us to provide tailored support as needed. The aim is to alleviate worries and concerns about this imortant next step while fostering curiosity and positive anticipation.

We want to help children see each new phase of their educational journey as an exciting challenge that they can approach with enthusiasm and self-confidence.

The Flexible Entry Level is an innovative form of instruction in which first and second graders learn together. This cross-grade class format offers a unique learning environment that addresses the individual needs of each child and allows them to progress at their own pace.

The learning content and skills are prepared in a differentiated manner by the specialists and supplemented by a variety of learning opportunities. The strengths and weaknesses of each student are taken into account. Regular classroom observations and assessments of learning progress supports the teachers in developing individualized support and work plans for each child.

The classroom design and a wide range of teaching materials create a diverse environment in which children learn to enjoy studying and are supported in their individual development. Furthermore, we encourage visual and action-oriented learning and design both cross-grade and grade-specific content at various levels of difficulty. This promotes children’s communication and enables independent learning, which has a positive influence on their motivation and success.
