Welcome to the School Association

The School Association of the German School Seoul International (DSSI) is the governing body of the school. Since its founding in 1976, the school association has been dedicated to the operation and development of the kindergarten and school.

The members of the school association are the parents of the children who attend DSSI. Thanks to their dedicated support, we can look back on 50 successful years. At the annual General Meeting, current topics are discussed and important decisions are made collectively—in the spirit of a strong school community.

DSSI is a German international school recognized by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen – ZfA) and is thus part of the worldwide network of German Schools Abroad. In 2024, DSSI was awarded the seal of quality “Excellent German International School”.

DSSI is a German International School officially recognized by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA) LINK and part of a worldwide network of German schools abroad. In 2024, the DSSI was awarded the “Excellent German International School” quality seal by the ZfA — a visible testament to the highest standards in education and student support.

The Board of Directors

The Association’s members elect up to seven Board members, who represent the interests of the school association on a voluntary basis. The Board is responsible for managing the economic framework as well as the strategic direction and development of the DSSI. In doing so, it works closely with the Principal, the Administration, and all school interest groups, and also coordinates with the German Embassy when necessary. The Articles of Association fundamentally regulate all matters of the DSSI. The Board is represented by the Representative of the Board, Hyun-Jeong Kim, who supports and discharges the Board members, and implements the Board’s guidelines together with the school and administrative management.
